The Dubai International Airport on Saturday intercepted Iranian drones that were targeted towards the international travel hub by Iran as the war in the Gulf and Middle East continues to grow intense. A video has surfaced showing the attack being filmed over Dubai International Airport from a residential window in the city. A photo had also surfaced on social media showing smoke rising from the International Airport amid reports of an Iranian attack.
However, clarifying the reason for smoke over the international airport, Dubai authorities confirmed that a minor incident resulting from the fall of debris after an interception was successfully contained. They said no injuries were reported. Authorities also denied reports circulating on social media regarding any incidents at Dubai International Airport.
Dubai's competent authorities have dealt with a limited incident resulting from the fall of a shrapnel fragment caused by a successful interception operation by air defenses, with no injuries recorded. There is no truth to what is currently being circulated on social media sites regarding any incident at Dubai International Airport.
The broadening Iran war has ricocheted across the region and beyond, with nearly every country in the Middle East sustaining damage from missile hits, drone strikes or shrapnel. Many are reporting casualties, and key embassies, economic engines and passageways have closed down.
