A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 struck near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran on Saturday, March 7, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The tremor originated about 75 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, increasing its potential to be felt on the surface.
The seismically active region experienced the quake without immediate reports of significant damage or casualties. According to USGS data, the earthquake struck 74 kilometres west of Bandar Abbas and at a depth of 10 kilometres.

Earlier, on Tuesday, an earthquake of Magnitude 4.3 hit Iran’s southern part. The earthquake occurred in Gerash, located in the southern part of Iran’s Fars province. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), USGS had said.
