Prime Minister Han Seong-sook instructed relevant agencies Sunday to make thorough preparations against damage from heavy rains forecast for this week. Noting that heavy rain is forecast for early Monday morning, Han called for establishing safety measures against additional damage in areas that have already been hit hard by earlier rains, according to her office. She particularly called for taking preemptive measures in damage-prone areas, such as slopes, run-down houses and retaining walls in residential neighborhoods. Additionally, she instructed officials to devise evacuation plans and give swift evacuation orders using all available resources in the event of danger.
