A tornado, or possibly more than one, ripped through southwestern Michigan this week causing massive amounts of damage.

Unfortunately, there were multiple injuries and even a few deaths.

The amount of force that comes with tornadoes is other-worldly. They can uproot trees and destroy solid buildings in just moments.

4 dead, 12 hurt in suspected tornadoes in southwest Michigan

Four people were killed and 12 others injured when tornadoes ripped through southwest Michigan Friday afternoon, WOOD-TV reported.

Three people were killed when a tornado hit the Union City area, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office told WOOD-TV. Twelve people were injured in the same area

Of the 12 injured, three required hospitalization. The names of the dead were not released.

One person was confirmed dead after a tornado in the Edwardsburg area, the TV station reported.

“Our thoughts are with those who have lost family, friends, and property during this incident,” the sheriff’s office told the TV station.

Tornadoes ripped through parts of southwest Michigan Friday afternoon, destroying buildings, leveling trees, and knocking out power.
