Russia says will stick to nuclear weapons limits if US does after treaty expired

Russia said Wednesday it would abide by limits on its nuclear weapons set out in the lapsed New START treaty with the United States, so long as Washington did the same.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said a self-imposed “moratorium” against boosting the size of Moscow’s nuclear arsenal “remains in effect, but only while the United States does not exceed the outlined limits.”
