Nepal Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates:Rapper-turned-politician Balendra Shah’s Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is inching towards a landslide victory as the counting of votes progresses for the high-stakes general election for Nepal’s 275-member House of Representatives, the lower house of Parliament.

The poll marks Nepal’s first general election since Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9 forced the resignation of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and led to the dissolution of Parliament.

The RSP maintained a commanding lead in Nepal’s proportional representation vote count on Saturday, securing more than half of the ballots counted in the early tally. According to Nepal’s Election Commission data, from 161 of the 165 constituencies, the RSP has already won 20 seats and is ahead in another 98

The ex-Kathmandu mayor has secured more than 15,000 votes in Jhapa-5 constituency against four-time prime minister and CPN-UML chair K P Sharma Oli in the latter’s stronghold.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leads on 98 seats, Nepali Congress on 11 seats while CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist) on 11 seats.

India is closely watching Nepal’s election, expressing hope that a stable government will emerge in the politically fragile Himalayan nation and help advance bilateral development ties.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in Delhi on Friday that India looks forward to working with the new government to further strengthen the “robust multifaceted ties” between the two countries.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane has won the Chitwan-2 seat with 54,402 votes.

His closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Mina Kumari Kharel, secured 14,564 votes, while CPN-UML’s Asmin Ghimire received 6,942 votes and Nepali Communist Party’s Pratap Gurung polled 4,965 votes.
