Americans despise Congress. With approval ratings perpetually scraping the bottom of the barrel, most folks outside the Beltway view Capitol Hill as a cesspool of self-serving politicians who couldn't care less about the people who elected them. But what's actually driving this contempt?
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) isn't afraid to tell you exactly why – and her answer should surprise absolutely no one who's been paying attention.
Luna, one of the most refreshingly honest voices in the Republican conference, has been sounding the alarm on congressional dysfunction since she arrived in Washington. The problem, she argues, isn't complicated: too many members of Congress are there to enrich themselves, not to serve their constituents.
"People are sick and tired of representatives who campaign as conservatives and then vote like Democrats the moment they get to Washington," Luna has repeatedly emphasized. "They're tired of the games, the backroom deals, and watching politicians get wealthy while everyday Americans struggle to put gas in their tanks."
And she's absolutely right. While hardworking Americans are getting crushed by the economic devastation left behind by the Biden regime, members of Congress somehow keep padding their bank accounts. Funny how that works, isn't it?
What Luna understands – and what the establishment desperately hopes you won't figure out – is that there's essentially one party in Washington: the Uniparty. Sure, they wear different colored ties and give different speeches, but when it comes time to actually drain the swamp? Suddenly the RINOs and Democrats are singing from the same hymnal.
This is precisely why President Trump's return to the White House has the establishment in a panic. With Elon Musk's DOGE initiative taking a chainsaw to government waste and the America First agenda in full swing, the gravy train is finally getting derailed.
The American people aren't stupid. They see members of Congress becoming millionaires on a $174,000 salary. They watch as the same politicians who lecture them about sacrifice somehow afford multiple mansions and luxury vacations.
What makes Luna different from so many of her colleagues is her willingness to name names and call out the corruption – even within her own party. She's not interested in climbing the leadership ladder by playing nice with the establishment. She's there to fight for the people of Florida's 13th district and for Americans everywhere who are fed up with business as usual.
That kind of authenticity is rare in Washington, and it's exactly why the swamp creatures view her as a threat.
