Remember the glee with which journos would tell coal miners they should ‘learn to code’ when the eco energy policy they were pushing was costing ordinary people their livelihoods? Now that journos are the one on the wrong side of the ledger, they’re acting ridiculous.
People in the real world know what it’s like to get cut from a job. It might be a firing, it might be layoffs in a downturn, or an entire worksite might be shuttered as the globalism coastal elites embraced so gladly resulted in massive offshoring of American manufacturing.
Grown adults take the hit, let the disappointment and frustration wash over them, shake themselves off, get up and look for another line of work.
Folks like Bari Weiss have been chased out by woke mobs demanding purity tests. Neither her centre-left politics, nor her ‘ally’ status as a woman with a same-sex spouse were enough to keep the Slack Channel mob from feeding her to the wolves.
She went off and built her own media empire. And look at her now.
Compare that to WaPo’s latest round of layoffs. The paper Bezos bought for about $250 Million back in 2013 is losing something like $100 Million a year. And his personal wealth is irrelevant to how this project is failing badly.
But now that they have, the Bright Sparks formerly working for WaPo thought they could bully Bezos into giving their jobs back. News flash, that’s not how employment works.
Here’s how their plan to ‘stick it to’ Bezos played out.
‘Our plan is to walk into the building and show our right to work.’
Last night after working hours, our members who are being targeted for layoffs by The Washington Post were locked out of their work devices, platforms and The Post building.pic.twitter.com/j2jfobOR5y
