A body believed to be that of a man in his 70s was found in waters near eastern Jeju Island on Sunday, the Jeju Coast Guard said Monday. The Coast Guard said the man had been reported missing Saturday and is investigating the exact cause of his death. The body was one of four believed to be those of missing persons found on Jeju Island over the past three days, including that of Jang Mi-ran, a 37-year-old woman who had been missing since May. Earlier on Monday, another missing person was found dead near a valley on the west side of the island. On Saturday, a man in his 60s was found dead in the northeastern part of the island. Police had been looking for the man after the police officer in charge of Jang's case had prematurely closed the case, prompting his family members to report him missing again last week.
