Unless he miraculously pulls through from a recent prison attack, Ian Huntley's chances of survival appear dim. However, there was an unusual call by one of the Soham child murderer's victims, begging medics to save his life.
The call was a bit stranger considering the anguish that families of the victims had to go through. But in the case of this unusual request, the woman who made it had other things in mind.
'I hope he survives, I don't want him to die. He needs to go back to prison so he can suffer for the rest of his life,' a family member allegedly said in a report byThe Mirror. 'Death would be the easy way out.'
Huntley is serving at least 40 years for the murder of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002. Working as a school caretaker at the time, he and his former girlfriend Maxine Carr were the chief suspects identified as being behind the heinous death of the two minors.
According to the Durham Constabulary, the status of Huntley has not changed. The felon is on his sixth day in the hospital after being found to have been assaulted with a makeshift weapon on 26 February.
As previously reported onIBT UK, Huntley and Russell allegedly got into an argument before the incident. The debate got out of hand and the triple killer got hold of a pole with a spike at its end and used it to bludgeon Huntley at least six times.
While the case of Holly and Jessica is the one that most remember well, Huntley also had several sexual assault-related cases. One of them involved a 15-year-old girl who Ian locked in a room and demanded sex.
That girl ended up getting pregnant. When the girl informed Huntley, the Soham killer got irate and allegedly threatened to kill the teenage schoolgirl. So as it turns out, Huntley has had a long history of sexual offences which have not totally come out into the open.
At the moment, Huntley is clinging to his life and is on life support after getting hit multiple times in the head. Doctors reveal that he has gone blind and do not expect him to regain consciousness.
Aside from the family of the victims, Huntley's own daughter has shown no remorse regarding the condition of his father. Samantha Bryan hardly showed any when she spoke toThe Sun.
