US authorities have released fresh details of a sexual assault allegation involving US President Donald Trump, as new documents from the Jeffrey Epstein files were made public.
The material includes summaries of three interviews previously flagged as missing from the Epstein records. The documents were released on Thursday night following pressure on the White House to disclose additional files linked to the case.
According to the records accessed by The Telegraph, an unidentified woman told FBI investigators in 2019, shortly after Epstein was arrested on sex-trafficking charges, that she had been sexually assaulted by Trump while she was 13 to 15 years old in the 1980s.
In a separate interview with the FBI, she said that she and the people close to her had received threatening phone calls, including one to a coworker, which was actually intended for her.
She revealed the person who did that was the ‘other one’ and not Epstein. Later, she revealed it was ‘Trump’.
The newly released documents are being described as among the most explosive allegations to emerge from the Epstein files so far.
She further alleged that Epstein threatened to leak her explicit photographs, which prompted her mother to embezzle money from a real estate company where she worked to pay him, and two men close to Epstein ‘helped’ her mother to hide the trail of the embezzled funds and pay him the blackmail money.
The mother was reportedly arrested for embezzling the money and spent two years in prison as she tried to buy back her daughter’s explicit photos.
The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, described the allegations as “completely baseless accusations, backed by zero credible evidence, from a sadly disturbed woman who has an extensive criminal history".
Their publication outside the usual document-release schedule, and at a time when the United States is engaged in a conflict involving Iran, is likely to raise questions about how the US Justice Department has handled the broader Epstein investigation.
