The breathtaking hypocrisy of the Democratic Party reached new heights this week when Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) warned that "people are going to die" if America isn't prepared for threats from Iran - while simultaneously admitting Democrats are blocking full funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

During Thursday's broadcast of MSNBC's "The ReidOut," Peters stated emphatically, "we better be prepared, or people are going to die" when discussing Iran threats. Yet in the same breath, the Michigan Democrat confirmed that his party isn't backing down from their obstruction of DHS funding.

This is the same twisted logic that has Americans scratching their heads: Democrats claim to care about national security while actively undermining it for political points. They're literally holding our homeland security hostage while fear-mongering about foreign threats.

Meanwhile, patriotic Americans are calling out the double standard. Social media user @johnrockshomes pointed out the Democrats' hypocrisy: "And to think Tina Peters is in jail. The CommunSocialist Democrats are fantastic at oppression, and jailing dissenters."

Another user, @MendlovitzMark, expressed frustration with Democratic persecution tactics: "Democrats used to troll me about Tina Peters. F*ck all of them. This poor woman has been persecuted and tortured far beyond what any of their coddled, hardcore criminals has endured."

This dangerous game-playing by Democrats comes as President Trump's administration works tirelessly to secure our borders and protect American citizens. Secretary Kristi Noem at DHS needs full funding to implement the mass deportation program and strengthen border security - exactly what voters demanded in November.

Peters' fear-mongering about Iran rings hollow when his own party refuses to properly fund the very agencies tasked with keeping us safe. It's political theater at its worst, and the American people see right through it.

How can Democrats claim to care about American lives while actively sabotaging our homeland security? The answer is simple: they don't.
