Busan Metropolitan City will host the "2026 Medical Tourism Business Fair" at Grand Josun Busan on Wednesday and Thursday, city officials said. The event is designed to promote the strengths of the southern port city's medical sector and expand its base for attracting foreign patients, officials said Friday. It is hosted and organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), a government-affiliated agency that promotes Korea's health and medical industries, and co-hosted by Busan, Daegu, Gwangju and Jeju, the four cities selected through a KHIDI open call. This year's fair, being held in Busan for the first time, will bring in 16 overseas buyer companies from 10 countries, including Thailand, China, the United States and Mongolia.
