Badshahhas landed in controversy after the Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) issued him a summons over his latest Haryanvi song Tateeree. The commission took note of complaints claiming that the track contains objectionable lyrics and visuals that may disrespect women and minors. The song was released around March 1, 2026, and led to debate on social media and among local groups in Haryana. Following these complaints, the commission decided to examine the matter formally. Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, has been asked to appear before the panel and explain his side of the issue.

The controversy started after two complainants from Panipat raised objections to the lyrics and video of the song. Social activist Savita Arya, who heads the Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti, and Shiv Kumar from the Shiv Aarti India Foundation alleged that the song uses words that are disrespectful towards women and go against cultural values. They urged authorities to take action against the singer.

After receiving these complaints, the Haryana State Commission for Women took suo motu cognisance and issued a notice to Badshah. The commission has asked him to appear for a hearing scheduled on March 13, 2026, at 11:30 am. The hearing will take place at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office in Panipat and will be chaired by commission chairperson Renu Bhatia.

The commission has also directed the Superintendent of Police in Panipat to ensure that all concerned parties are present during the hearing. Officials will listen to the complaints and Badshah’s explanation before deciding if any further action is required.

Renu Bhatia also questioned how the song passed regulatory checks before release. She said the issue raises concerns about how such content is approved for public release. According to the commission, the matter will be examined carefully once both sides present their views during the hearing.

Tateeree is a Haryanvi folk-style track performed by Badshah and released at the beginning of March 2026. Some lines in the song have become the main reason behind the controversy. Complainants have specifically objected to certain lyrics that they claim send a wrong message about women. One of the lines cited in the complaint is 'Aaya Badshah doli chadhane, in sabki ghodi banane,' which critics say is inappropriate.

Apart from the lyrics, the video of the song has also been questioned. According to complaints, the video shows girls in school uniforms dancing on a Haryana Roadways bus and throwing their school bags. Critics say such visuals may send the wrong example to young viewers and do not respect the dignity of minors.
