He says he objected because he believed there were additional leads, including potential international connections and online activity that warranted further investigation beyond the alleged lone-gunman narrative.
According to Kent, FBI officials initially restricted access to the case, and FBI Director Kash Patel ultimately told his team that they were done investigating, with the matter being handed to the FBI and Utah authorities. The discussion concludes with Kent saying he disagreed with the decision but ultimately lost the dispute with the DOJ and was instructed to stop pursuing additional leads.
