Washington DC:A US military investigation into the Minab girl’s school attack suspected that American forces were responsible for the missile strike, reported news agency Reuters. Notably, over 160 girls were reportedly killed on February 28 after a missile struck the Shajareh Tayebeh primary school in Minab.

Meanwhile, the motive of the attack and the ammunition used is still not known. Some official even told the news agency that new evidence could emerge absolving the US of the charge of attacking the school.

On Wednesday, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had said that the US military was probing the incident. It is still not clear as to how long the investigation will take.

The girl’s school in Iran’s Minab was hit on the first day of the US-Israel strikes on February 28, killing reportedly over 150 students, as claimed by Iran's ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva, Ali Bahreini.

Meanwhile, some satellite images that surfaced online also revealed that there were multiple strikes around the school, pointing out that it was hot more than once. Satellite images show extensive damage to the area around the Shajareh Tayebeh primary school and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) compound next to it.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani lashed out at US President Donald Trump over the strikes on the school.

In a post on X, Larijani condemned the "mass martyrdom of innocent girls" by "American-Israeli criminals". He said the theory of "peace through strength" has been "stained with blood" by the tragedy.

He then added, "Mr. Trump! Is this the anthem you composed for freedom in Iran?" accusing US policy of hypocrisy and deception.
