AUGUST 16, 2026 Brooklyn, NY – At approximately 2:23 am police responded to a 911 call for a person shot in the vicinity of Bergen Street and Howard Avenue, according to police.
Upon arrival police encountered a 35-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the back and a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to police.
The woman was transported to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The man was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital and is in stable condition, according to police.
