A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of men after he intervened to protect a girl from beingsexually harassedin Girdawar colony under the Palla police station area of Faridabad on Monday evening, according to a TOI report. The man identified as Jai Singh was stabbed 14 times in the chest, neck, back, and abdomen, leading to his death. Singh suffered multiple knife injuries and was declared dead after reaching the hospital.
Singh was sitting in a park near his house with his friend Saurabh on Monday afternoon, when a boy approached him seeking help, alleging that some youths in the park wereharassinghis sister.
Singh went up and intervened when the group of men was trying to harass his friend's sister. He threatened them and chased them away. Hours later, four to five youths returned to the park and attacked Singh, according to Singh's uncle.
"Locals immediately gathered at the spot, following which the suspects left the spot that time but returned with two more associates within half an hour in a car,” SHO Parkash said.
“Jai was stabbed at least 14 times in the neck, back, chest, and abdomen in quick succession, leading to his death at the spot. However, the exact number of wounds will be confirmed after the autopsy," Inspector Satya Parkash, station house officer of Palla police station," said, according to an HT report.
Later, four suspects returned with knives and found Jai alone, as by then Sonu had left. The suspects allegedly stabbed Jai 14 times.
Singh's wife, Aarti, heard his screams and rushed to the spo,t and found him lying in a pool of blood. Saurabh took him to BK Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police said four suspects are on the run, and two have been identified as Sonu Khan and Tushar, also residents of Girdawar Enclave.
