A girl was reportedly kidnapped from afairgroundbefore being gang-raped by four men.Policehave arrested the suspects and an investigation is now underway.

The girl, 17, was at the fair in Pachauta, a village located in Uttar Pradesh,India, with her aunty and sister-in-law on Wednesday evening (March 4). However, she was allegedly taken by two men after becoming separated from her family. They reportedly drove her to a deserted jungle area before two more men arrived andrapedher.

As reported by theHindustan Times, police were alerted after her family could not find her. The teenager was reported missing and local officers launched a search to track her down.

She was found lying unconscious in the jungle but, by the time police had arrived at the scene, the suspects had fled. The girl was rushed to hospital for treatment and has since regained consciousness.

It has been confirmed by local media that four local men have been arrested in connection with the attack. They include Sunil Yadav, Prince Yadav, Deepanshu Yadav and a fourth man who has not been identified.

The victim's father said: "What happened to my daughter should not happen to anyone else’s child." Meanwhile, her uncle claimed that two men forcibly covered her mouth before taking her from the fairground.

Meanwhile, the girl has reportedly not spoken to anyone since regaining consciousness in the hospital. The suspects were only arrested following action from her family.
