Abhishek did not take the field in the opening game against the USA due to a stomach infection, and it got worse with time. Abhishek was reportedly running a high temperature and was administered drips for immediate relief.

"Abhishek has been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi due to a stomach infection. Some tests are being done to ascertain the problem. It is still not clear whether he will be discharged today. But the match against Namibia looks doubtful as of now," a BCCI source told PTI.

Sanju Samson was replaced by Ishan Kishan in Team India

If he can deliver a strong show, India might find a way to retain him in the XI, even after the return of Abhishek Sharma. Samson was tipped to be the top choice opener for India in the T20 World Cup, but unfortunately, he lost form, and was dropped after Ishan Kishan grabbed the chance with both hands.

"Sundar joined the team yesterday, and he will train with the squad today," Doeschate revealed.

"Bumrah has been bowling after a 10-day break, and he's feeling a lot better. He's moving well and will bowl again today, he added.
