Democratic Socialist Franchesca Hong appeared headed for a landslide victory in Wisconsin, with one poll showing her leading by 22 points. But Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez both declined to endorse her—and then her enormous polling lead completely vanished.
Sanders also rejected policies associated with Hong and the Democratic Socialists of America, including defunding the police, abolishing prisons, and opening the borders. Meanwhile, Hong faced questions about her previous support for abolishing the police and a deleted post calling for Americans to cancel Thanksgiving.
