The incident unfolded Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2026, in a Glendale neighborhood as officers surrounded a home where an armed suspect had barricaded himself inside. Glendale Police said the suspect discharged a weapon at officers, and multiple police vehicles were reportedly struck by projectiles during the standoff.
Residents in the surrounding area were told to shelter in place while SWAT teams moved in and worked to contain the scene. Aerial footage showed extensive damage to the home as armored vehicles and tactical teams repeatedly breached portions of the property.
The situation drew a large police presence in the West Valley area of Maricopa County, with attention focused around Glendale Avenue, 75th Avenue, Nicolet Avenue and nearby residential streets.
