He's back, folks. Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke, the skateboarding wannabe who couldn't even win a Senate race in Texas despite burning through $80 million, is making bold predictions again. This time, the delusional Democrat thinks Texas will "save the country" when state Representative James Talarico wins a Senate seat this November.
Speaking on MSNBC's "The Briefing" Wednesday, O'Rourke doubled down on the tired liberal fantasy that Texas is somehow on the verge of turning blue. "Texas will save the country when James Talarico wins," he declared with the same misplaced confidence that led him to challenge Ted Cruz in 2018 and face-plant spectacularly.
Who exactly is James Talarico? Most Texans couldn't pick him out of a lineup. The state representative from Round Rock has been pushing the same tired progressive agenda that Texas voters have repeatedly rejected. But according to Beta O'Rourke, this relatively unknown politician is going to be the Democrats' savior in the Lone Star State.
This is classic O'Rourke – big on rhetoric, short on reality. Remember when he was going to take your AR-15? Remember when he was going to flip Texas blue in 2020? How did that work out? Texas went for Trump by over 600,000 votes, and Republicans swept every statewide race.
Now, with President Trump back in the White House and his America First agenda firing on all cylinders, O'Rourke thinks Texans are suddenly going to embrace the same radical policies they've been rejecting for years. It's political wishful thinking at its finest.
The truth is, Texas remains solidly red because Texans value freedom, secure borders, and conservative principles. No amount of Hollywood money or mainstream media hype is going to change that fundamental reality.
O'Rourke's latest fantasy raises an important question: When will Democrats learn that their coastal elite agenda simply doesn't sell in Texas? The answer seems to be never – and that's great news for patriots who want to keep Texas red and America great.
