Serial election loser Beto O'Rourke is apparently living in an alternate reality where Texas suddenly abandons conservative values to embrace radical leftist ideology. The former congressman, who couldn't even win a Senate race in the blue wave year of 2018, now claims "Texas will save the country" when state Representative James Talarico wins a Senate seat this November.
Speaking on MSNBC's "The Briefing" Wednesday, O'Rourke doubled down on the delusion that has defined his political career – believing Texas voters want far-left policies that have destroyed cities like San Francisco and Portland.
Let's be clear about what O'Rourke and Talarico represent: the same failed progressive agenda that Texans have repeatedly rejected. While President Trump's second term focuses on securing the border, cutting regulations, and putting America First, these Democrats are still peddling the woke nonsense that got them obliterated in 2024.
O'Rourke's track record speaks for itself. He lost to Ted Cruz in 2018 despite massive funding and media hype. His presidential campaign crashed and burned after he promised to confiscate Americans' AR-15s. Then he got demolished by Governor Greg Abbott in 2022.
Now he's betting on Talarico, another progressive Democrat who thinks Texas voters are suddenly ready to abandon the conservative principles that made the Lone Star State an economic powerhouse while blue states hemorrhage businesses and residents.
The reality is that Texas patriots see right through this charade. They've watched President Trump deliver on his promises during his first term and are now witnessing the America First agenda in full swing during his second term. Border security, energy dominance, and constitutional freedoms aren't just campaign promises – they're being delivered.
Does Beto really think Texans will trade prosperity and freedom for the progressive policies that have failed everywhere they've been tried? The answer comes in November, but smart money says O'Rourke's prediction will age about as well as his presidential ambitions.
