They sell Botox, lip filler and laughing gas.
No — a new beauty-centric dentist hasn’t opened up in California’s State Capitol of Sacramento. In reality, a Planned Parenthood branch in the city is pivoting to make ends meet after the‘Big Beautiful Bill’ tanked funding.
“We’re not your mom’s Planned Parenthood,” a beaming Dr. Laura Dalton, the chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, told KCRA.
Outside of its trademark abortion services, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is providing women with beauty services like Botox and fillerswhile also offering access to GLP-1s for weight-lossand nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, for anxiety and pain management.
Dalton said the new services will help Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s doors to “open wider.”
“We are resilient and innovative, and I like to say that when faced with a crisis, our doors did not close. They opened wider,” Dalton said.
In light of theTrump administration cutting off $100 million to the nation’s largest Planned Parenthood— a medical provider known for providing abortions and menstrual care to women — the California-based branch needed more funds.

Gov.Gavin Newsom provided Planned Parenthood Mar Montewith $90 million earlier this month, mostly filling the gap left by the Trump administration. Dalton said the new services will help the organization “backfill” in funding further for visits that weren’t reimbursed “in the Sexual and Reproductive Health program,” she said.
One patient told KCRA that she wanted to get Botox anyways, so supporting Planned Parenthood was a bonus.
