‘Princess of Pop’Britney Spearswas arrested in Ventura County, California, on Wednesday night for Driving Under the Influence. The news was confirmed by law enforcement sources to TMZ. According to Page Six’ report, the California Highway Patrol detained her at around 9:28 PM and booked her at about 3:02 a.m. at a local detention facility before being released at 6:07 AM on Thursday. According to reports, she will be appearing before the court on May 4. The pop singer is yet to issue a statement on the arrest.
Earlier in the day, Britney was granted a permanent restraining order against a Louisiana man, who was said to be behind multiple disturbing social media posts against the popstar. According to her security, the person would show up at her residence. She filed a court case against the 51-year-old man, named Donald, for harassing her online since 2013. He was also arrested for trespassing her residence in 2025.
As per the documents filed by Britney, Donald was spotted by her security guard, who then called the sheriff's department. The authorities reportedly found the man shaking at the scene and smoking cigarettes. A deputy took him into custody. A petition reported that the accused ‘exhibited odd behavior and made several incoherent comments’ during the arrest. Now, the court ordered him to stay 100 yards away from Britney at all times.
In the official documents, Britney mentioned that she wasn’t acquainted with Donald and has no relationship with him. Her team claimed that his posts were ‘largely incoherent, several could be interpreted as threatening to harm Britney. The popstar’s team further shared that Donald posted the word “bullet hole heart”, leaving them concerned for her safety.
