Chaos erupted on Wednesday on Capitol Hill after a disruptive anti-war protester sparked a physical confrontation during a Senate Armed Services hearing, forcing law enforcement to intervene and prompting former Navy SEAL and U.S. SenatorTim Sheehyto step in and assist Capitol Police.
Videoexclusively obtained byThe Gateway Pundit’s Alicia Poweshows the moment Capitol Police Officers tackled the Marine Veteran after he interrupted the Senate meeting by repeatedly shouting, “This is Israel’s war!”
“No one wants to fight for Israel!” McGinnis shouted.
An audible “snap” is heard on the video, which witnesses say occurred as McGinnis refused to release his grip on a doorway while officers attempted to pull him away.
Authorities later said McGinnis had intentionally wedged his arm into the doorway while resisting officers. Some witnesses accuse Sen. Sheehy of breaking the veteran’s arm.
The protester and three Capitol Police officers were treated for injuries following the confrontation.
The protester, identified as Marine Corps veteran and Green Party Senate candidateBrian McGinnis, was criminally charged with assault, obstructing, and resisting arrest.
The Capitol Police released the following statement, according to KFYR:
“This afternoon, an unruly man who started to illegally protest during a hearing, put everyone in a dangerous position by violently resisting and fighting our officer’s attempts to remove him from the room. The outburst happened just before 3:00 p.m., during a hearing inside the Hart Senate Office Building.
Three officers had to be treated for injuries by DC Fire & EMS. The suspect, who got his own arm stuck in a door to resist our officers and force his way back into the hearing room, was also treated.
