A 19-year-old woman inMumbaiwas shot dead in the head near Govandi's Shivaji Nagar area on Tuesday afternoon (February 10). The woman was found with severe bullet injuries on her cheek and neck, the police said. She was immediately rushed to a hospital; however, she could not survive and succumbed to her injuries. he police have begun the investigation into the case and have arrested her 23-year-old boyfriend and a 25-year-old woman, who allegedly had feelings for him, according to a TOI report.

The 19-year-old Mumbai woman lived with her parents and two siblings in Kamala Raman Nagar, Govandi. Her father works as a small-time contractor in the construction sector, according to a TOI report.

Around Tuesday afternoon, the woman stepped out of her house to have tea. But later, she was found critically injured with bullet wounds. Locals rushed and took her to Shatabdi Hospital in an auto, but she was declared dead after reaching the hospital.

The assailants fled after shooting the woman on the road. The police said no one in the locality clarified who fired the bullet at the girl.

However, police have identified the accused from CCTV footage, and further investigation is underway, one of the officials told PTI news agency.

A murder case has been lodged, and a manhunt to trace the shooter has been launched. Moreover, the woman's body was sent to JJ Hospital for a postmortem examination, and the statements of her parents were being recorded, TOI reported.

For further investigation into the crime, the woman's phone was also seize,d and her friends were being questioned.

In anotherincident, a body was found cut into pieces and stuffed into a bag at Juhu Beach in Mumbai. The grisly discovery on Monday set off a police investigation that traced the suspect, Wahid Ali Israil Sheikh, who confessed that the 40-year-old victim was his friend and had died following a heated argument after drinks at the accused’s Malwani godown.

The crime came to light when a police constable found the torso of an unidentified man inside a plastic bag dumped near Landing Point at Juhu Beach in Santacruz West.
