Ontario:A 45-year-old Indian-origin social media influencer, Nancy Grewal, was allegedly stabbed to death by an unknown assailant in Windsor City in Canada's Ontario province on Tuesday night (local time), confirmed LaSalle Police. The incident took place at her home on March 3. The YouTuber was rushed to Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services hospital; however, she later succumbed to her injuries.
As per the police, officers and medical staff rushed to the crime scene after receiving the information just before 9:30 pm on Tuesday night. After arriving at the scene, the police found him suffering from stab wounds.
"LaSalle Police Identify Homicide Victim The LaSalle Police Service continues to investigate a homicide that occurred on Todd Lane just before 9:30 p.m. on March 3, 2026. The victim is Nancy Grewal, 45, of Windsor. The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal," the Lasalle Police said in its social media post.
"To ease public concern, we are sharing that investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor at 519-969-5210 ext. 2531. We are also seeking video surveillance from anyone that lives nearby. Grewal hailed from Punjab and came to limelight due to her controversial comments against Shiromani Akali Dal leaders, including Bikramjit Singh Majithia. According to reports, she even used to speak against jailed MP Amritpal Singh and Dera Beas chief Gurinder Singh Dhillon.
She was also vocal against Khalistani extremists in Canada and even criticised the alleged murder of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known asKamal Kaur Bhabhi. Notably, Kumari was allegedly killed in Bathinda in June last year.
The police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
