Professor Xueqin Jiang, a renowned Chinese educator, had made three big predictions in 2024 — Donald Trump would return to power, and he would launch a war with Iran. Since two of his prophecies came true, netizens are already hailing him as ‘China’s Nostradamus’.
Host of a popular YouTube channel ‘Predictive History’, Professor Jiang made the remarks during an online lecture in 2024. His comments are now making headlines as tensions between Iran and the United States escalate, pushing the Middle East into a renewed military confrontation.
Based in Beijing, Jiang teaches philosophy and history. A graduate of Yale College, he dedicated much of his career to working on education reform and curriculum design in China.
Through his YouTube project titled ‘Predictive History’, Jiang has built a remarkable following on social media. In his lectures, he forecasts global events by analysing recurring patters in history.
PROPHECY THAT MADE ROUNDS ONLINE
In a lecture recorded in May 2024, Professor Jiang predicted if Trump returned to power, geopolitical pressures could push the United States towards a military confrontation with Iran. He warned such a confrontation could yield disastrous results for the US.
Jiang also drew parallels between a potential US invasion of Iran and the Sicilian Expedition, when Athens launched a large military campaign that ultimately resulted in catastrophe.
WHAT DID JIANG TELL US TV SHOW?
Appearing on ‘Breaking Points’, Professor Jiang opined Iran has “many more advantages over the US".
“Given my analysis of how the war is progressing, I think that Iran has many more advantages over the United States. The reality is, right now, it’s a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and Iranians have been preparing 20 years for this conflict," he said.
