A kindergarten teacher who called herself a 'wolf' was fired after parents complained about her provocative clothing and uncomfortable classroom antics.
The incident started at Mildred B. Poole Elementary School at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. A female and non-binary substitute teacher had been teaching there since 2023. School officials received letters from parents asking the Department of Defence Education Activity toinvestigate the teacher's conduct.
The teacher, who used such names as 'Roxxanne,' 'Roxxie,' 'Captain Roxxie,' or 'Koda' told children to call her 'Wolf.' She urged them howling and said she would become a werewolf at night. Children's eyes got larger and some began to say 'whoosh' when the story was over.
Parents saw the teacher arriving in tight shirts and tank tops, above-the-knee skirts, combat boots, a BDSM-style dog collar and an animal tail. She even drove a car with the licence number 'WEREBEAST HUNTRESS' and a special plate 'ROX XY 666.'
Her social media posts revealed her in poses which some people called 'sexual fetishes' and 'violence/torture' with furry personas.
One mother, whose child was terrified, related the storey of the teacher at a meeting. The child went home and said to the mother, 'Mommy, I'm scared he's going to come eat me.' The words shocked the group.
Other parents indicated that theteacher had been permitted to identify as a womanin school, to use female pronouns, and to wear clothing that they felt was 'BDSM-style' while teaching. They approached school staff to get them to stop the practise, but the teacher still acted out as her wolf character.
Some parents asked if the teacher would take girls to restrooms thinking she was a woman.
US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted on X, 'The 'Wolf' was fired 2 weeks ago,' on 19th February. Thousands shared the post trying to find answers. Hegseth's statement confirmed that the school district had done something.
The teacher's firing was not only in response to complaints from parents but also on areport by Liberty Counselwhich stated the teacher's behaviour was sexual harassment and defied common sense. The group called for immediate suspension and removal from classrooms during the time an investigation would be conducted.
