Community blood drive slated for March 3

The Riverhead Fire Department will host a community blood drive with the New York Blood Center on Tuesday, March 3 from 1 to 7 p.m. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.

Donors are encouraged to eat well, hydrate, bring a photo ID and arrive feeling well. Donors must meet minimum weight requirements. Donors must be 17 or older, or 16 with a parental permission form. Donors age 76 and older must provide written physician consent. Full eligibility guidelines are available at nybc.org/eligibility.

Participating donors will receive homemade baked goods and a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream from Snowflake.
