The latest rumour originated from a post on X by parody account Hoops Crave (@HoopsCave). The post claimed that Perry is pregnant and having twins with Trudeau. They wrote: 'Katy Perry announces she's expecting twins with Justin Trudeau: "She's eating for 3 now",' along with the photo of the couple and a sonogram.

This claim quickly gained traction, amassing more than 7,000 likes, 4,200 reposts and 6.6 million views. Although the post now carries a community note clarifying that it came from a parody account, many users had already engaged with it before the disclaimer was added. The sonogram image used was dated 2014, further undermining the claim.
The rumour gained momentum after Perry, 41, was seen out at theexclusive Coral Casino and Cabana Club in Montecito, California, with Trudeau, 54 on Saturday, 21 February.
Perry wore a loose white cover-up rather than her usual figure-hugging style, with a robe draped across her midsection. This small detail was enough to send the internet into a frenzy, with many concluding that the singer is pregnant, allegedly hiding her baby bump, and an announcement should be expected — despite no confirmation from the couple.
