August 2nd, 2026 - Rye, NY: At approximately 8:40 p.m., officers responded to the New England Thruway southbound lanes just beyond exit 21 for two pedestrians struck by a trailer truck. At least one victim may have been pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was rushed to an area hospital possibly in critical condition as well.
