In a historic moment, Jammu and Kashmir are playing their first-ever Ranji Trophy final, and are facing 8-time champions Karnataka. This is definitelya big moment in the state's cricket history, and credit for this achievement definitely goes to their captain Paras Dogra. However, the J & K skipper had quite the rough moment on the field, as he got into a physical altercation with a Karnataka player. This spat even got the likes of Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul involved afterwards.

During the 101st over of the first innings of the Ranji Trophy final, Paras Dogra edged a Prasidh Krishna for a four. After this, Dogra got involved in a heated war of words with KV Aneesh who was fielding at forward short leg. After some words, Dogra suddenly got more aggressive and headbutted Aneesh's helmet. Things escalated after that and the umpires had to intervene. This was apparently caused because of the constant chirping from KV Aneesh got the better of Dogra.

Immediately after the over was completed, Paras Dogra went to KV Annesh to apologize for this behaviour. However, the Karnataka player was having none of it and refused to comply.

In fact after this incident, senior Karnataka players KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, who were fielding nearby, launched verbal trades at Dogra, constantly chirping in the Jammu and Kashmir captain's ear.

Paras Dogra has had quite the eventful innings at the Ranji Trophy final. When he was on 9 runs from 48 balls on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy final, he was struck on the helmet by a ball from Vijaykumar Vyshak. He was then retired hurt, and did not come into bat until Day 2.

He played a good, solid innings of 70 runs from 166 deliveries in an innings studded with 9 fours. At Tea on Day 2 J&K scored 478/6 in their first innings, and have the upper hand in the Ranji Trophy final.
