In October 2025, 32-year-old Sonia Exelby left her home in Portsmouth, England and flew into Gainesville Regional Airport. She had been communicating for nearly two years with Dwain Hall, a man from Ocala who used the online name Alphasadist.
According to investigators, Sonia had discussed extreme fantasies involving violence and death, and eventually arranged to pay him thousands of dollars to carry it out. She booked a remote Airbnb in Reddick, Marion County, and met Hall shortly after landing.

Days later, her body was found in a shallow grave in Marion Oaks. Hall was eventually charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
