On March 2, 2024, in Auburn, Alabama, officers responded to find a woman named Amanda with burns across her head, shoulders, and stomach. She told police she did not know who attacked her, could not identify the street she came from, and said it was a woman who hurt her. A witness said she knocked on his door asking for a paramedic, telling him she had been beaten and burned. He had no idea how she made it there on her own. Officers then located Jarvis, who said he was Amanda's boyfriend of 14 years. His account of when he last saw her kept shifting. Detectives brought him in for a recorded interview. By the end of it, he said he did not want to answer any more questions. Amanda's phone was found at Jarvis's house. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was unable to give a full account at the scene. The case was handed to the Criminal Investigation Division. Update on this case: Public reports identify the attacker as Jarvis Jackson. The woman in this video was his longtime girlfriend. She survived, later testified, and helped connect him to the attack. Jackson was sentenced to 68 years in prison on September 24, 2025. That sentence also included a separate later case involving a different woman, his wife, and her dog.
