Representative Angie Craig (D-MN) appears to be having a total psychological break ahead of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address tonight.
While the rest of the country prepares to hear about the historic economic comeback and the success of Operation Metro Surge, Craig is busy describing self-mutilation as a preferable alternative to doing her job.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today alongside fellow TDS sufferers like Reps. Betty McCollum and Ilhan Omar, Craig let her radicalism fly:
“I would rather stick forks in my eyes than be here tonight to listen to Donald Trump talk about the state of the union, but this is the people’s house, and I will not abandon the people’s house.”
Despite her dramatic outburst, Craig is still dragging herself to the Capitol tonight.
Top Democrat leaders like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries plan to attend (with some members using “silent defiance” inside the chamber), but many rank-and-file Democrats are boycotting in protest and attending counter-events instead.
According to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, 73 Democrats are expected to skip tonight’s State of the Union, and the number is reportedly growing by the hour.
