The Department of Homeland Security has announced that some Democrat lawmakers are planning to bring illegal aliens as their special guests to tonight’s State of the Union address in Washington.

As tradition, each lawmaker is permitted to bring at least one special guest to the annual address.

TheDHSin a post on X wrote, “Today, some Democrats in Congress are planning to bring illegal aliens as guests to the State of the Union.”

“Once again, they are putting illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens,” added the DHS.

The DHS did not provide further details on which lawmakers were planning to bring illegal aliens to the address.

The New York Timesreported, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will invite Raiza Contreras, whose son, Dylan Lopez Contreras, was detained by ICE agents last year.

Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, said on Monday that he would be taking Raiza Contreras, a mother whose son, Dylan Lopez Contreras, was the first reported public school student in New York City to be detained by immigration agents last year. Mr. Schumer said he had “entered legally and was following the law.”
