Jeffrey Epstein's death in 2019 shocked the world, especially his victims. Thousands wanted him to pay for his crimes. Epstein was convicted of human trafficking and labelled one of the worst sex offenders of his time. However, what should've been a lifetime in jail was cut short after he reportedly took his own life.
Even though he's no longer around, investigations into his actions continue. The newly released Epstein files revealed key information about his crimes, often targeting minors. Personalities mentioned in the documents—includingBill Gates, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor,Donald Trump, and Elon Musk—were reportedly connected to Epstein.
Years after his death, new information has emerged about the photos and videos that circulated online showing adeceased person's bodybeing transported from jail to an ambulance. At the time, the media reported that the lifeless body inside the body bag belonged to Epstein. However, new details reveal this couldn't have been farther from the truth.
A jail supervisor toldFBIagents that staff at Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center used a fake body to try to trick the media. While attention focused on the decoy, Epstein's real corpse was loaded into another van. The fake body was made to look human after jail guards piled up layers of boxes and sheets. It was also labelled as belonging to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, so the media would think they were following Epstein's actual corpse.
The decision to stage the ruse was made after jail guards were warned about thousands of people waiting outside the facility to catch a glimpse of Epstein's lifeless body.

The records revealed that a handwritten note was found in Epstein's jail cell following his death. However, it wasn't treated as a suicide note because it featured complaints about jail conditions, food, showers, and bugs in the facility.
Reports also revealed that Epstein's death statement was already drafted a day before the convicted sex offender took his own life. The statement was reportedly attributed to former Manhattan US Attorney Geoffrey Berman, who claimed that Epstein was found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead shortly after. According toNDTV, multiple drafts of the same statement were included in the newly released Epstein files, showing various versions and redactions. Epstein's death was later ruled a suicide, but some people remain unconvinced.
A surveillance video from the day before his death also showed a man wearing an orange outfit near Epstein's cell. Records claim the man could have been an inmate. However, prison staff said it's unusual for inmates to be escorted very late in the evening.
The circumstances surrounding Epstein's death have fuelled persistent conspiracy theories, with sceptics pointing to multiple security failures the night he died. Both cameras outside his cell malfunctioned, guards falsified records claiming they'd checked on him when they hadn't, and he'd been taken off suicide watch just days before, despite a previous attempt. These anomalies have led many to question the official suicide ruling.
