An alleged gang member and two other people were taken into custody last week after an Atlanta police canvass, according to the department. On July 17, investigators were canvassing 369 McDaniel St. SW after a shooting when they found 35-year-old Rodney Grant, described as a “known gang member,” was at the apartment complex. Body camera video shows officers calling Grant out of the apartment using a loudspeaker. Grant had arrest warrants for aggravated assault and gang-related charges, according to police. During the canvass, two more suspects with outstanding warrants were also found: 21-year-old Leglance Mallory and 20-year-old Jarquez Kelley. Mallory faces four counts of aggravated assault, second-degree criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and gang-related charges, according to police. Meanwhile, Kelley faces charges of second-degree criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, two counts of entering an automobile and theft by taking. Officers said they also recovered five guns during a search after the arrests.
