“Shut it Down for Lorenzo” March to Fatal ICE Shooting Vigil Site - HOUSTON

July 24, 2026 HOUSTON, Texas - Hundreds gathered at Hidalgo Park for the “Shut it Down for Lorenzo” march through the Magnolia Park neighborhood in Houston to the makeshift vigil site erected at the location of a fatal ICE shooting. Activists called on local businesses to “shut down business as usual” and stand in solidarity with protesters and the family of 52-year-old Mexican National Lorenzo Salgado Araujo who was fatally shot by an ICE agent on July 7th.
