The entire purpose of eating the food you like is enjoyment, but sometimes it gives you severe digestive issues- like acid reflux. Whether it is because you were eating too fast or drinking a caffeinated beverage, doctors list out many factors that can cause acidity, making your side effects worse.

According to renowned US-based gastroenterologist Dr Will Bulsiewicz, popularly known as Dr B on social media, he has noted that eating chocolates, peppermint, and "fun" drinks that are loaded with sugar regularly trigger acid reflux. “The thing about all of these is that, ultimately, they relax the lower esophageal sphincter, which allows acid reflux to happen," Dr. Bulsiewicz explained to his followers on Instagram. Apart from drinking water, Dr. B suggests replacing these treats with a healthier alternative – a dessert that can actually relieve the symptoms of acid reflux.

"Eat the Mango nice cream – it is just frozen mangos, frozen bananas, throw it in a blender, and it's amazing," says Bulsiewicz.

Nice creams are healthy, dairy-free, and often vegan desserts that can be easily made at home by blending frozen fruit – mostly bananas – along with some other seasonal fruit - into a soft-serve ice cream consistency. It is naturally sweetened, requires no ice cream maker, and acts as a nutritious alternative to traditional ice cream.

And since they have simple ingredients, the dessert, as recommended by Dr. B, a two-ingredient mango-banana flavour, sounds perfect for your digestion. Both mangoes and bananas are foods that alleviate the harsh symptoms of acid reflux since they are both non-acidic and have a high pH, helping your stomach settle.

Unlike dairy ice cream, nice cream contains no heavy cream or added fats. Lower fat content means faster digestion and less pressure on the stomach, reducing the risk of acid backing up into the esophagus.

Refined sugar can worsen inflammation and digestive discomfort. Mango and banana provide natural sweetness along with fibre, which is important for your digestion.

Bananas, being a low-acid fruit, are often recommended in reflux-friendly diets. Their soft texture and mild pH can help coat the esophageal lining and reduce irritation.

For those who are sensitive to lactose or dairy fat, eliminating dairy can reduce bloating and reflux episodes.
