A man was found dead inside his car in the basement parking of Star City Mall in Mayur Vihar on Tuesday (February 24), police sources said. The deceased has been identified as Narendra Singh (42), a resident of Ilahvas in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, the man was sitting inside his vehicle when he was discovered. Prima facie, the cause of death appears to be natural, and he is suspected to have suffered a heart stroke.
However, officials said the exact cause will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination. Police have sealed the crime scene and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to gather clues related to the incident.
The incident comes days after a young couple was found dead in a car in Noida on Valentine's Day. According to police, the young man identified as Sumit (32), a resident of Trilokpuri, allegedlyshot his girlfriendidentified as Rekha (26) dead and then shot himself. Both bodies were found with gunshot wounds, along with a pistol and cartridges recovered from the vehicle. While initial findings pointed to suicide, the man's family has claimed that the couple may have been murdered.
A suicide note recovered from the car claimed theywere in a relationship for 15 years, but she was set to marry someone else. However, Sumit’s family has disputed the suicide angle, suspecting murder and alleging caste-based threats from the woman's family. However, Sumit's family members alleged that the couple received taunts from the woman's kin, including calls from international numbers warning of police action, they told PTI news agency.
A cousin of Sumit alleged that thetwo were victims of "casteism",adding that he believes they have been "murdered". He added that the couple were in a relationship for over a decade with their families aware of it.
