Gavin Newsom, hawking himself and his memoir in Georgia on Sunday, toldblack Americans they should relate to himbecause he bombed his SATs and can barely read.
This racist bid to bond with black voters comes as the guvtrots the globe and tours the nation, his focus not on California but on his own presidential ambition.
It also points to a broader reality about theDemocratic Party: It’s often led by politicians who slam opponents as racist –– while expecting a pass on their own racism.
From Hillary Clinton to Joe Biden to Gavin Newsom, leftist politicians have long used race to feign virtue, divide Americans, and insult political opponents.
Of course, Newsom’s remarks have sparked a backlash.
As Johnnie Morgan, president emeritus of the California Republican Assembly, told The California Post:
“Public officials — especially those who hold the highest office in our state — carry a responsibility to communicate with sensitivity, respect, and awareness of historical context. Comments that appear to equate race with intellectual benchmarks undermine the very principles of equality and dignity that leaders should champion.”

Also egregious: Elected Democrats who pose as benefactors of minority communities –– with paeans to diversity, equity and inclusion –– while inflicting policies that make life worse for people of color (and for everyone else).
