Residents in a San Francisco neighborhood are outraged after a Red Bull Formula One event left its streets trashed and properties damaged.
“People climbing onto residents’ houses, standing on parked cars, wrecking trees and bushes,” one Reddit user wrote. “Hundreds of Lime scooters abandoned and blocking pathways, forcing people to walk in the street. People parking and blocking residents’ driveways. People pissing on residents’ houses and shrubs.”
“Absolutely atrocious behavior and horrible crowd control. Very poorly executed,” the user added.
The event — the Red Bull Showrun — took place Saturday and drew at least 40,000 spectators. But locals along Marina Boulevard were left to clean up the aftermath.
Some described the event as “chaos” and “poorly planned.”
“Whether you’re from here or not, it’s someone’s property and someone’s home,” one Marina Boulevard resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told theSan Francisco Standard.
“Folks are just upset,” she added.
Broken branches and plant pots were scattered along sidewalks, and some garage doors and windows were damaged.
In videos posted to Instagram, thousands of peoplecould be seen crowding the area and climbing traffic andstreet signsto get a better view due to the lack of tiered seating. Some even cut down branches to gain a higher vantage point.
