In a powerful and deeply emotional ceremony at the White House on Sunday, President Trump welcomed Angel Families — Americans whose loved ones were murdered by criminal illegal aliens — and signed a historic proclamation designating February 22 as National Angel Family Day. The date marks the second anniversary of Laken Riley's brutal murder, a 22-year-old nursing student who was killed while jogging near the University of Georgia campus by an illegal alien who never should have been in this country.
One by one, family members stepped forward to share their devastating stories — and their gratitude for a President who actually listens.
"If you've lived that nightmare that we have lived, you understand the importance of the job that he is doing in securing our nation and fighting for our families — because this could be any family," said Allyson Phillips, Laken Riley's mother, her words cutting through the political noise to the heart of the matter.
Laura Wilkerson, whose son Joshua was tortured, strangled, and set on fire by an illegal alien classmate, recalled meeting Trump nearly 11 years ago when he was first running for office. "He never, ever, looked away from my pain. He looked me straight in the eye and he said, 'I will never forget the story of your sweet son, and I will never give up fighting for the American family,'" Wilkerson testified. "He has never missed a day of fighting for the American family."
Let that sink in, Patriots. While Biden and his radical Democrat allies were busy calling illegal aliens "newcomers" and "undocumented neighbors," President Trump was sitting with these families, looking them in the eye, and making promises he has kept for nearly a decade.
Perhaps the most damning testimony came from Officer Ethan Curreri, the law enforcement officer who actually arrested Laken Riley's killer months before the murder — for endangering the welfare of a child, no less.
"I did my job. I put him in custody," Officer Curreri stated. "The system failed; no detainer, no accountability, no deportation, and an innocent American life was taken."
There it is, folks. The system didn't just fail — it was DESIGNED to fail under the Biden regime's catastrophic open-border policies. A dangerous criminal was arrested, and instead of being deported, he was released back onto American streets where he would go on to murder an innocent young woman with her whole life ahead of her.
Jody Jones, whose brother Rocky was shot and killed by an illegal alien, didn't mince words about the hypocrisy of the Left: "I'm sick and tired of hearing these Democrat politicians stand up on these podiums and say how sorry they are for seeing these criminal illegal aliens being 'ripped apart' from their families. What about us? What about the American family? We mean something, too, and this man right here understands it."
