Gunfire erupted inside a Kroger near Houston, Texas, leaving three people shot as deputies detained a possible suspect.

The shooting was reported Wednesday afternoon inside the Kroger Marketplace at 20355 Cypresswood Drive near Fairfield Meadows Drive in Cypress, northwest Harris County.
According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies responded after witnesses reported seeing a man firing a weapon inside the grocery store. Authorities say three people were shot, with one victim reportedly transported by Life Flight for emergency treatment. The victims’ identities, conditions and the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not yet been released.
A possible shooter has been detained, but investigators are still working to determine that person’s involvement. A detention does not necessarily mean the individual will be arrested or charged. Law enforcement officers and emergency personnel remain at the Kroger as they interview witnesses, collect evidence and review what happened inside the store.
Officials are asking the public to avoid Cypresswood Drive near Fairfield Meadows Drive and use alternate routes while first responders continue working at the scene.
