With just months left for West Bengal Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter addressed to the people of the state.
In the letter, he said he was “heartbroken" over what he described as the present condition of the state. He alleged that people of his envisioned “shonar Bangla" had faced deceit under the rule of the Trinamool Congress government.
He said Bengal deserved better governance and renewed development. He pledged to work towards building a “Vikshit Bengal" and called for support to transform the state’s future and restore growth, opportunity and trust in public life.
Urging the people to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party, the Prime Minister said the future of West Bengal rests with its people.
