Join us live at 7 p.m. on July 22 from Capitol Hill as Shen Yun artists share their firsthand experience of transnational repression from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Shen Yun Performing Arts is an American company showcasing "China before communism" to over a million audience members a year.
Shen Yun artists will be in attendance for a reception, followed by a viewing of the award-winning documentary, "Unbroken: The Untold Story of Shen Yun," which provides direct, firsthand evidence of China's transnational repression and suppression of U.S. cultural expression that multiple active bills in Congress are specifically designed to address.
The film shows the human stakes and American interests behind the policy questions currently before Congress. A briefing document will be provided to all attendees, and a digital version will be made available to livestream viewers.
Schedule:
7:00 p.m.: Opening remarks by members of Congress and film viewing
8:30 p.m.: Panel discussion with artists and CCP insiders moderated by Steve Lance, host of NTD's "Capitol Report" and executive producer of Sincere Pictures
"The film's core warning lands powerfully: a foreign authoritarian regime should not be permitted to dictate what art free societies can watch or what spiritual beliefs individuals may hold. ... Worth seeing as an act of support for artistic freedom and religious liberty."
~ The Federalist
"Timely because the threat of socialism continues to affect the lives of Americans and civilians in other nations. It is great to see this issue addressed and treated with a serious tone."
~ Film Threat
"A meditation on freedom itself."
~ Patch
